There’s a part of the Christian journey nobody really prepared me for… and that’s the waiting.
The season where everything feels like it’s slowed down or maybe even stopped altogether. No doors seem to be opening. No clear direction is being proviced. No confirmation that makes sense. Just you… holding onto God… and a promise that doesn’t seem to be moving at all.
And if you’re not careful, this is where questions start to creep in.
You begin to wonder if something’s wrong. If you missed something. Or if God has gone quiet.
But the truth is, the waiting is never wasted.
It’s not punishment. It’s not God overlooking you. And it’s not Him forgetting what He promised.
It’s preparation.
The kind you can’t rush. The kind you can’t skip. The kind you probably wouldn’t choose, but absolutely need.
Even Jesus waited. He waited years before stepping into ministry. Then spend 40 days being tried and tested. So He obviously carried the awareness of His calling long before He ever stepped into it publicly (remember they found Him as a child, in His Father's house). That alone should tell us something about the value of hidden seasons.
Isaiah 40:31 says that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength… they will rise on wings like eagles… they will run and not grow weary… they will walk and not faint.
But pay attention to the order here... the waiting comes first.
Before the strength.
Before the movement.
Before the soaring.
Unfortunately, as much as we might wish otherwise, there is no shortcut from promise to fulfillment. The space in between is where the deepest work happens.
And most of this happens in the quiet. In the unremarkable. In the common.
It’s not in front of people. It’s not on a platform. It’s not in moments that feel important. It’s in the stillness… in the unseen… in the ordinary days that feel like they don’t matter.
But they do.
Because what feels like delay to you… is actually development in God’s hands.
He’s shaping your character. Strengthening your faith. Driving your faith deeper, so that when the weight of what He promised finally comes, you won’t collapse under it. You’ll be able to carry it.
God doesn’t just fulfill promises, He prepares people who can sustain them.
So please hear what I am saying and don’t walk out of this season frustrated. Walk out ready!
God hasn’t disappeared. He hasn't forgotten you or His promises to you.
Lean in a little more deeply. Grow a little more wisely. Stay in prayer. Stay in the Word. Seek godly counsel. Be patient and remain open.
When the moment comes, and it will if you remain faithful, you’ll understand why the waiting was necessary.
You may be in the waiting.
You may be in the making.
And if you are… take heart.
This isn’t a time for frustration. It's a really, truly valuable season where God is building something in you that will last.
