It amazes me at the sheer amount of utter blindness of people in our world. The blatant ignorance that so many choose to walk happily around in, just... because they want to. How is it that we are so fooled into thinking that we know what is best for ourselves and our own lives (because we've done it so many times, right?).
What a selfish and self-centered world!
This must be one of the most ridiculous things that I have encountered in a long time: "Well, that might be your truth, but it isn't mine!"
Wait, what?! "I'm living my own truth."
Is this a serious statement?
What do you mean that you are living your truth? You have no knowledge of anything that hasn't been taught to you. Emotion bears no persuasion on truth! You're just a speck, if even, in the timeline of world history.
Truth isn't something that can change with the tide or the culture. You don't just decide one day what is true and what isn't, because it suits you better. Truth is infallible, it's a natural law.
What makes you capable of deciding what is and isn't truth? Who or what gave you the wisdom and power to decide with your own authority that you can crown something true or not based on your feelings on a matter? Where were you when the stars were hung in the sky, the oceans given their borders, or when life was established?
Do you know how ridiculous it sounds to the wise when someone says "I'm living my own truth??"
Truth is established. It is absolute. It doesn't change due to preference or wishful thinking; truth comes from the One who created it to be that way. Truth comes from the One who has all power, all authority, and all control. What control or influence do you wield over humanity? Can you dictate the seasons? Do you hold the power of life or death in your hands? Have you decided the very laws of nature? What HAS been your contribution to creation? ...being born into it? That wasn't even something you had control over.
Your truth? This only works for feelings, not for facts. And any semi-educated, halfway intelligent person must acknowledge this. It doesn't mean that you have to like it or choose to recognize it. But it doesn't change the fact.. truth, is truth, without change or compromise. Up/down, left/right, true/false... it isn't a decision to make, it's an unchanging, eternal fact.
I'm pretty sure a better translation to what you are saying is "My demise is my choice, regardless of the consequence." And that's a fair enough statement. "I'm going to do it how I want to do it, when I want to do it, without regard to the truth or the reprecussions; it's just how I choose to operate." Ok... that makes sense. Not to me, but I can better understand the insanity.
Your ability to choose not to recognize or observe the truth is completely within your control. This IS something that you hold power over. We have that freedom.
But hear this... no matter the feeling, agreement, or belief... this does NOT change a factual, immortal truth of a matter. Truth is objective, not subjective, otherwise, it would not be truth (absolute).
Belief does not equal reality. We are all welcome, right or wrong, to live by our own beliefs, regardless of the foundation in which they are or aren't supported. But it is impossible to live by your own "truth." There is no such thing. Imagine 8 billion people, all claiming to have their own "truth." Truth couldn't exist.
- John 14:6- "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
- John 17:17- "Your Word (the eternal, unchanging, living Word of God) is truth."
He who created all things, who established the laws of the universe, the laws of nature, whose vision brought all things to life and order, HE is the one who gets to decide the governing truths. You may freely choose to live outside of those boundaries, but you would do well to recognize your defiance in opposition to the eternal rulings of God. And should you not, there will factually come a day when you would do anything, anything whatsoever, to have one more chance to choose differently.
Truth is, if you woke up again today, this IS another opportunity. Should you carelessly choose to dispose of this fact, when the "truth" finally becomes realized, it will then be too late. There are no 'do-overs.'
THIS.. IS TRUTH!
