Something Has Been Lost
In Acts 17:6, the enemies of the gospel dragged believers before city officials with a stunning accusation: "These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also."
They said it as an indictment. We should read it as a goal.
The early church — with no institutional infrastructure, no government favor, no social media reach, no buildings of their own — managed to be so disruptive to the existing order that their enemies couldn't ignore them. Within three centuries, the most powerful empire on earth had been transformed by the movement they started.
Now look at us. The Western church has billions of dollars in real estate, thousands of full-time staff, sophisticated media operations, and centuries of cultural influence. And the world is not being turned upside down. In many places, the church is in retreat — declining in numbers, influence, and moral clarity.
Something has been lost. This series is about finding it.
Acts 2:42 gives us the DNA: devotion to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to breaking bread, and to prayer. Four pillars. Simple. Radical. Reproducible. This series unpacks each one — not as a historical curiosity but as a living challenge to every believer who dares to ask: What would it look like if we actually lived like this?

How to Use This Series
Individual Study
Work through one teaching per week. Read it slowly. Sit with the reflection questions. Take notes on what unsettles you — that's usually where God is working. Then do the action step. Don't rush.
House Church Group
Use each teaching as the foundation for your weekly gathering. Read it together, discuss the reflection questions, and then collectively choose an action step your community will take that week. Let the early church challenge your gathering.
New Believer Discipleship
Walk a new believer through this series over 8 weeks. These are the foundations — Word, community, remembrance, and prayer. If you can establish these in someone's life from the beginning, you will have given them something most church members never receive.
Leadership Development
Use this series with anyone you are investing in for leadership. The early church model is the leadership model. If someone cannot grasp and articulate what made the early church who they were, they are not yet ready to lead others into it.
