The two vs. the Anti-Christ.

Revelation 11:3–12, Revelation 11:9–12, Matthew 24:42

God will raise powerful witnesses who boldly confront the Antichrist and testify to the truth during the darkest period of human history.

Revelation 11:3–12 describes two witnesses who will appear during the end times. These two individuals will prophesy for 1,260 days, perform miracles, confront evil authority, and eventually be killed by the beast (often understood as the Antichrist). After three and a half days, God raises them from the dead and takes them to heaven.

So who are these two bold characters that will enter into our story? Scripture specifically teaches that two witnesses will confront the forces of evil during the tribulation, but it never definitively identifies them. And with anything biblical, any time that there is room for speculation, there is much.

The main views are:

• Elijah and Moses

• Elijah and Enoch

• Two unknown prophets raised by God for that time

Let me remind you, however, scripture does not identify these two individuals, so any guess as to who they are is just that, a guess. What matters most is not their exact identity, but their role: God will raise powerful witnesses who boldly confront the Antichrist and testify to the truth during the darkest period of human history. What makes this important is that this is another piece of prophesy that begins to unfold. This is a literal event that mankind can lay eyes upon, see happening, and realize that the fulfillement of scripture is happening right in front of their very eyes!

What a massive and obvious sign this is! Think for a moment, two individuals preaching openly in Jerusalem with supernatural authority, calling down judgments, and resisting global opposition will not be something that can easily be mistaken for ordinary events. Revelation says the entire world will eventually witness their death and resurrection (Revelation 11:9–12), which will be an even greater confirmation that prophetic Scripture is unfolding and the prophetic timeline is advancing.

Please do keep this in mind though0 Jesus did not give end-time signs to create fear or speculation, but to help His followers remain watchful and grounded in truth. In Matthew 24:42, He simply said, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”

So the real preparation is not trying to predict every detail ahead of time, but rather helping people become biblically literate and spiritually awake. With this, when the events Scripture describes begin to unfold, they should recognize them immediately, remain faithful, and promote the Word of God to all who will hear.

What I love about scripture, is that it invites itself to be challenged. It is often specific and detailed, making it easily disproven, if it were not truthful and correct. Nothing, not one thing ever, not one, has ever been proven incorrect or false in scripture. Never. Feel free to challenge this. And, once you discover the truth in this comment, maybe your interest will grow enough that your studies will allow you to be aware of the predicted events unfolding right before your very eyes!

Let all who have ears hear... the words given in scripture are written into an unchanging, definitive univeral law. They will come to pass.
