If creation still obeys Him, so will I.

Creation declares Him. Jesus revealed Him. The cross proved His love. So will I.

Today, I heard the song “So Will I (100 Billion X)” by Hillsong United.

I’m not even sure if I had heard it before, or if I had just never really listened closely to the lyrics. But today, it hit differently. And I wanted to share why.

Throughout the song, there are several powerful ideas, all pointing back to the glory of God and our response to Him. Paraphrased, the message sounds something like this:

  • If the stars were made to worship God, so will I.

  • If the mountains bow in reverence, so will I.

  • If the oceans roar in praise, so will I.

  • If everything exists to lift Him high, so will I.

  • If the wind goes where He sends it, so will I.

  • If the rocks cry out in silence, so will I.

  • If creation still obeys Him, so will I.

  • If creation sings His praises, so will I.

  • If everything He made points back to Him, so will I.

  • If Jesus surrendered everything to the Father, so will I.

  • If He gave His life to save the lost, so will I.

  • If His love keeps pursuing the one, so will I.

The progression is powerful:

Creation worships.
Creation obeys.
Jesus surrenders.
Jesus pursues.

Therefore… so will I.

That hit me hard.

All of creation bears witness to who God is. The heavens declare His glory. The mountains, oceans, stars, wind, and every living thing testify that there is a Creator behind it all.

And if creation responds to His voice, why shouldn’t I?

If the stars can shine for His glory, if the oceans can move at His command, if the wind can go where He sends it, and if Jesus Himself could surrender completely to the will of the Father… then what excuse do I have to hold anything back?

Creation declares Him. Jesus revealed Him. The cross proved His love.

So will I. It's the very least I can do.
